Verbeek and Nilsson visited school in Goïngarijp

Yesterday afternoon Gertjan Verbeek and Lasse Nilsson have visited o.b.s. It Slúske in Goïngarijp. De pupils, almost all of them are fanatic Sc Heerenveen fans, were allowed to ask the trainer and player questions, and afterwards they played a game on the school playground.

Verbeek and Nilsson enjoyed the attention of the pupils of "It Slúske"

The pupils of It Slúske are all huge Heerenveen fans and that was the reason for teacher Jitty Hoekstra to get in contact with the football club and arrange a visit. Yesterday was the day and Gertjan Verbeek and Lasse Nilsson went to Goïngarijp to bring the young fans a visit.

The Children are all listening to Verbeek and Nilsson

“Most of the boys, and even some girls, are playing football at Joure and are real fans” teacher Karin Tigchelaar tells, “A few of them even visit the home matches of Heerenveen and they wear their Heerenveen shirt very often in the class. Verbeek and Nilsson were in good company yesterday, because not only the kids are fanatic Heerenveen supporters, also the director of the school, Roel van Nijen, is a real Feanfan.

Verbeek is learning Swedish!

After Verbeek and Nilsson had been welcomed in Swedish by Director Roel van Nijen, the kids from Goïngarijp were allowed to ask their questions. The pupils were clearly impressed by the presence of the Heerenveen duo, because some of them hardly dared to ask their questions.

All together on a photo!

Teacher Karin Tigchelaar tells: “They all found it fantastic and were so impressed that it was really quiet in the classroom. You could hear a needle drop, and that doesn’t happen very often.” Verbeek and Nilsson visited class 4 until 8, which are about 15 pupils. “We have a very small school with only 30 children” Karin Tigchelaar tells us.

Nilsson is showing some difficult tricks

After the “Q&A hour” the children from the lower classes – who got very curious about all that was happening – were also allowed to go outside with them to play football on the school playground. Lasse Nilsson demonstrated a few tricks and at the end of the afternoon Verbeek and Nilsson gave photos and autographs to the kids.

Nilsson is keeping the ball high!

Teacher Karin Tigchelaar was very satisfied this afternoon. “The children really enjoyed it. Normally they only see Verbeek and Nilsson on TV or from a distance and now they were in their classroom and they were allowed to ask questions. No, I am absolutely sure that the kids have had an unforgettable afternoon.
