Lasse back to Elfsborg

Lasse and St. Etienne came to an agreement that Lasse will play for IF Elfsborg until the end of the season. Lasse said he's happy to be back home. Back at IF Elfsborg and Borås, there where it all started. Lasse played 73 games for Elfsborg and scored 16 times from 2002-2004, until he left for sc Heerenveen. He left sc Heerenveen last summer for St. Etienne, but never really played. He was not happy in France and ended the season for Aalborg, who won gold in Denmark. Now he's back iat Elfsborg until the end of the Swedish season.

AaB continues the victory course

With the fourth victory in a row AaB maintained one's lead on nine points down to FC Central Jutland's second place. One at the same time stupid and hard expulsion to AGF's Dioh Williams was greatly contributory to that AaB could turn 0-1 to 3-1 in other half.

Aab played AGF at home. Went down 0-1 in the first half where Aab didn't play well. Then AGF got a red card and didn't have a chance in the second half where Aab played amazing. Lasse made an assist to the 1-1 goal. The match ended in 3-1.

Nilsson: Points rather than goal

For AaB's Swedish attacker Lars Nilsson it's first of all about success for the team. Many goals and an audience-friendly play must follow. Lars "Lasse"Nilsson is very satisfied with the point profit of the first five SAS Ligakampes, since he joined in AaB. Victories in the four latest games and undecided at the opening night against OB is according to him absolutely satisfaction.

The game against FC Nordsjælland wasn't the best the team has played, but he thinks that's not so important.

"We haven't scored many goals in the games till now, but we havedid well by points, and that's the most important thing. When we reach over in the month of May, and the medals are to be divided between the best teams, there is anyhow nobody, who focuses on whether, we were playing badly in a game in April. By then one looks only at whether we scored three points" Lars Nilsson says..

"But of course, the best will be that we both get victories and are playing well", the attacker adds.

Lars Nilsson still expects a difficult fight with lots of hard duels, when AaB visits SAS Arena to the showdown against FC Central Jutland on Sunday. "It'll be a difficult fight. They are strong, and we have to be lucid on all positions, if we have to be let off from them by points", the Swede estimates. "Each fight there are three points to play about, and as long as we fetch victories, we hold the distance for the teams, who chase us, thus that is what we check of course, and three points against FC Central Jutland would be fantastic"

AaB open up gap

AaB opened up a three-point gap at the top of the Danish SAS-Ligaen on with a come-from-behind win at AC Horsens. Gilberto Macena put the hosts ahead after 25 minutes and it was a lead which lasted almost until the hour mark.

But Kasper Risgaard equalised after 58 minutes and Lasse Nilsson completed the turnaround seven minutes later.

It proved to be a big win for AaB, as FC Copenhagen, with whom they were level on points at start of play, lost 2-1 at Esbjerg.

20 March 2008

Lasse Nilsson causes new playing style

With the acquisition of Lars Nilsson AaB did not only got themselves a new class attacker, but the team also got a new and more attractive playing style with less long balls.
Long balls up to Prica were to a high degree AaB's recipe for success last autumn. Now header-strong Pricas is gone and the replacement Lars Nilsson is a completely different player type. Therefore AaB has been obliged to rearrange the playing style.

That was showed clearly at Wednesday's 2-1 victory out at Horsens. Gone were the long balls, and instead AaB played the ball over the field in the feet of the technically strong Lars Nilsson. -
He is hugely dangerous. Technically strong and very quick. The opponents' defender can slow down a bit or lose attention.

"Lars Nilsson is a completely different type than Prica, which makes that we have to play ia different style of football" AaB's assistant coach Allan Kuhn said after the victory on Horsens.
Allan Kuhn also promised that Nilsson still hasn't even showed his best yet. "He's a very good player and we haven't seen the best Lasse Nilsson yet. He showed it at some moments tonight, but there is a lot more he can do", Allan Kuhn said about the north-Jutlanders' new Swedish trump card.

Lars Nilsson holds on to AaB's gold dreams

AaB can still dream about gold after  Rade Prica has left.

The substitute Lars Nilsson showed glimpses of great class on Wednesday evening and secured one 2-1 victory on Horsens. If Flemming Østergaard and company in FC Copenhagen felt that the gold came more closely, when AaB sold Rade Prica in the winter break, they were maybe too early.

Prica's replacement Lasse Nilsson showed his joy of playing and self-confidence on Wednesday evening, when AaB fetched a 2-1-victory over Horsens.

The Swedish didn't want to hear about him being the match winner, when he calmly passed Horsens keeper Søren Jochumsen and scored the winning goal.

AaB was strong from the start, and the visiting team failed to score with open chances in Horsens' goal area. Missed chances prevented AaB from taking themselves early ahead.

An incredible 25 minutes were gone in, before Horsens visited AaB's goal area. But when it finally happened, Gilberto Macena managed to take Horsens ahead very luckily, 1-0. But  the North-Jutlanders fought themselves back in the fight. The Horsens-players had to use more aggressive actions after they had scored their first goal.

First Kasper Risgaard equalized shortly after the break, before the day's best AaB-player Lars Nilsson scored 1-2, before he had to leave the field, slightly injuredly aboutl ten minutes before the end of the match.

Lårs Nilsson: I should have scored one more goal!

AaB's new attacker Lars Nilsson was on the spot in the début out against OB, but was not completely satisfied with one's own performance.
The Swedish attacker scored 1-1 with 17 minutes left on the clock.  But he said He should have scored one more goal so they should have won the matc'.

"I am not completely satisfied with my own performance. I should have scored one more goal in the other half, when I got a good ball from Nomvethe and managed to tame it well down with the chest, but unfortunately I wasn't sharp enough, when I had to finish it" Lars Nilsson said after the match to bt.dk.

In spite of the annoyance over the missed goal, the Swedish had all the reasons to be happy about having got active on Danish grass. "I knew well, it'd be difficult here in Odense, but it was good to get active and play my first match. It was not a great match, but it was good to get active, and then I hope, I am a little sharper at Wednesday against Horsens.

Lasse scored  for Aalborg

Lars "Lasse" Nilsson and Thomas Enevoldsen scored for AaB on  Friday afternoon in a testkamp in La Manga, Spain

Lasse scored a great goal, he took the ball past a defender and put the ball in the top corner. A few minutes later he made an assist. Although he's not in top shape yet, he shows to be a welcome addition to Aab.

Lasse: "First half wasn't good today but we also play a bit naive because we aren't ready to match Lillestrøm's physic. In the second half we are totally in control and we show that we're a much better team."

Lasse already scored in another friendly game last weekend.

Lasse Nilsson: Aalborg is the right choice for me

AaB's new attacker trained here this morning for the first time with the team.

"I think, there is a tremendously cheerful atmosphere in the team, and I have received a warm welcome by the other players." Was Lars=Lasse Nilsson's immediate reaction, when aabsport.dk caught him after his first training in AaB.

"With the situation I was in in France (St. Etienne in the first French league, ed.), it was important to me to go to a club where I could get some playing time and find the pleasure in football again.
AaB is an great club, and I wasn't in doubt that it was the right choice for me" the forward  reports.

AaB's leader's coach Erik Hamrén doesn't hide that he is glad to have Lasse Nilsson in his team, when the first place in the Danish League is to be defended. -

Læsse is a quite good attacker. He is not only a goalscorer , but he is also involved in a lot of attacks. He is quick, good in man to man situations and is a a good player in the depth.

Now lots of us are busy comparing him with Rade Prica, and we saw the same when Frederik Winsnes (and Andreas Johansson) joined us. I don't think its possible to compare so different types of players. Lasse has other qualities than Rade, explains Erik Hamren.

He does expect though, that Lasse Nilsson just as Rade Prica, because of his dangerousness will attract opponents and because of that create space to his own team. Lasse Nilsson does admit it unreservedly, that his main qualifacations are very different than the former frontrunner of AaB.

I'm not a targetman, and neither a typically goalthief. I live on my speed and my ability to make a breakthrough. Of course I want to make as many goals as possible, but I also like the role of the assistent explains the Swede, who in his last season in Heerenveen topped the list of most assists of the season, and with this his part of the honour, that his teammate Afonso Alves ended the season as top scorer of the premier division.

"I hope Ill be able to help the club fulfilling its ambition of a position in the top 4, but obviously its my ambiton to win the danish league" Lasse Nilsson ends.

Poulsen: Nilsson good compensation for Prica

Heerenveen's Jakob Poulsen isn't in doubt that his Swedish team friend Lasse Nilsson will be a very good replacement for the fellow countryman Rade Prica in AaB.
"He is an incredibly quick and provocative player. He gave a lot of assists for Alves' goals, when he was here. Bycause of his speed he is incredibly good in the depth, and he is also very good in man against man situations. I'll absolutely think that he goes in and becomes a great profile in SAS Ligaen.

Now they hve lost Rade Prica, but I am convinced that they get an important replacement in Lasse" Jakob Poulsen says to bold.dk.

AaB's new star attacker Swedish Lasse Nilsson

Lasse Nilsson who has to replace Rade Prica in the AaB-front ,  becomes the most expensive for the five months he's loaned to the north-Jutlanders runner. According to B.T.'s springs the Swede keeps his monthly pay from French St. Etiennes as a matter of fact, while he is in Aalborg.  Therefore AaB must insert 800.000 DKK every month on Lasse Nilsson's bankbook.

So the AaB-attacker with distance becomes the most expensive player in Danish football. Jesper Grønkjær has so far been an owner of that title with a monthly pay of 400.000 DKK  But it isn't the pay, which has been decisive for the Swede's change to the North Jutland - also the possibility to play itself into the Swedish EM-troupe has been an essential reason.

"I have to hope of course to become a part of Lars Lagerbäck's crew, and if, means it playing time. That was what I didn't get in France, ...that is what I'll get in AaB, and that means everything, Lasse Nilsson says for B.T

Lasse Nilsson to Aalborg

Lasse Nilsson has been loaned to Aalborg until next June with an option for a permanent switch.

Lasse Nilsson to Ålborg

Lasse Nilsson is tired of being substitute in France and he's ready for the Danish Ålborg. I'm not giving any comments, but I am ready to move, Lasse said to Sportexpressen.se

De forward Nilsson has been going through a rough time in the France city St. Etienne. He was welcomed in France as a goalking of the Dutch team SC Heerenveen, but was sat on the couch of the France club St. Etienne most of the time. He has even played less than 100 minutes, which is a huge disappointment, so he is looking for a new club.

Replacement for Prica

Lasse told Fotbollskanalen.se that he's ready for the Danish Ålborg, as a replacement for Rade Prica, who signed for Sunderland lately. The website writes that Nilsson will be loaned to Alborg, which will be announced on Monday.

"I'm not giving any comments, but I want to move as soon as possible. We are discussing clubs in France, Portugal and Spain, but even Denmark and Sweden.
"When will we know more about it?"
"We have a deadline, the 31st of January, and we have to keep to that deadline.

Lasse wants to move on

In August 2007 Lasse signed for St. Etienne, ready to give it a go. Ready to get a chance to show France, St. Etienne and its fans his skils. He was welcomed in St. Etienne as a Hero. He would be the one to save St. Etienne, to score his goals and bring St. Etienne in a higher position in the 1st league. But nothing of that. Coach Roussey hasn't given Lasse a chance to show his skills, hasn't given him the faith, the trust, so be in important player in the team of ASSE. This all to the shame of the fans of ASSE, the fans of Lasse and most of it, Lasse himself. He wants to play, he needs to play, he wanted to take that next step in his career, but hasn't got a chance. I am very, very disappointed in the coach Roussey and in ASSE, and I know many ASSE fans feel the same.

Lasse wants to leave and find a new club, where he will get his chance to play and I really, really hope he will find that team and will find the fun back in football and all that has to do with it. Lasse has gone through a hard time for the last few months and I wished he had just stayed with Heerenveen. SC Heerenveen still has a good team, maybe better than ever, even without Lasse, without Afonso Alves, our golden couple of last season, but I want Lasse to be happy, to play.

I really, really hope Lasse will leave ASSE, the sooner the better and will find a club that fits him. I want to thank everyone from France or other countries who emailed me in the last months. I have send all the emails to Lasse and hope he will have had a chance to read it and he will know that the ASSE fans wanted him. Your emails of support are still welcome, keep them coming.
